So Many Things To Do In Essex This Autumn
Essex boasts a variety of opportunities for fun and relaxation this autumn.
1. Food and Craft Fairs
While Essex offers tremendous Christmas markets, autumn hosts a number of food and craft fairs. For example, the Cressing Temple Autumn Food, Home & Lifestyle Event is a huge food and crafts fair. Set in the grounds of the beautiful Cressing Temple Barns, you can enjoy a wide range of stalls set within the historic barns themselves as well as within surrounding marquees and stalls. With celebrity chef demonstrations, foods to sample, crafts to browse and birds of prey to watch, Cressing is one of our larger fairs. However, Essex is the site for a number of food and craft fairs throughout the season.
2. Days Out with the Kids
What about families with children looking to burn off some excess energy? Essex has you covered. For instance, Lee Valley Farms organises events throughout autumn. Likewise, Great Notley Country Park, set in 100 acres, includes challenging play equipment suitable for teens as well as gentler equipment for toddlers. Need to get in out of the rain? There’s swimming and flumes at Colchester Leisure World, or mad bouncing and climbing at Jump Giants Air Park.
3. Enjoy Autumn Colour
After the heat and activity of summer, there’s nothing quite like slowing down and enjoying the autumn leaves. Essex offers plenty of autumn colour, and Hainault Forest – owned by the Woodland Trust – is a great place to start. Or join the Autumn Colour Walk organised by Essex Wildlife Trust. Finally, wander through some of the best autumn gardens in Essex.
