What are you doing to celebrate British Egg Week 2014? If you don’t have plans yet, get plans in order fast, because British Egg Week 2014 is almost over. Didn’t even know it was happening? We did. We seized the opportunity to squeeze in as much egg fun from October 6th-12th as possible. This year, British Egg Week is all about inventing new egg dishes that help to use up leftovers. Using leftovers celebrates the versatility of eggs, helps to reduce food waste, as well as save money. That is three good reasons to join in! For us, it reflects a wider commitment to British and local food, for instance, our previous celebrations of Bacon Day and Farmhouse Breakfast Week.
British Egg Week 2014 Festivities
Harwood House celebrated a new way with eggs every day – fried, scrambled, poached, boiled, benedict, omelette. We seamlessly incorporated our lovely locally sourced eggs into our delicious hand-prepared breakfasts each morning. Co-owner, Ian, just happens to be a trained chef and graduate from the prestigious Leiths School of Food and Wine. Guests at our Stansted B&B enjoy one of his thoughtfully prepared meals each morning. We source as many local ingredients as possible; handmade jams by Sandra Ayres, sausages, bacon and of course eggs from farms right here in Essex. Guests can enjoy breakfast in our well-kept garden with colourful hanging baskets and individual tables.
Harwood House Stansted B&B is More Than a Great Breakfast
While our breakfasts continually delight guests, our Stansted B&B has a lot more to offer outside of fabulous food. Our guest rooms feature beautiful Laura Ashley wallpapers and fabrics, oversized padded headboards, an iPod dock with speakers and a radio, ghost chairs, fluffy new bath sheet-sized towels, Cole & Lewis toiletries, plush throws with co-ordinating scatter cushions, magazines, and fresh biscuits. Our proximity to Stansted Airport is also a big draw. We offer convenient parking and bespoke taxi service to and from the airport, or anywhere else you’d like to go in the local area. In addition to being a well-trained chef, Ian is a licensed Taxi driver who can pick up and drop-off guests at Stansted Airport anytime. Time after time, Harwood House guests rave about our fabulous amenities. So much so that we have taken the number one spot on TripAdvisor and a four star rating by the globally recognized AA hotel accreditation scheme.
Whether you are here to celebrate British Egg Week 2014 or plan to come for the 2015 celebration – it is easy to book online or give us a ring.
